Interest Groups
VSA Interest Groups are local, informal networks for people interested in VSA’s work and the wider international development sector. Open to anyone keen to connect and contribute, they bring together returned volunteers, current members, and supporters who share a commitment to VSA’s mission.
Led by volunteer Co-Convenors, the groups organise catch-ups, events, and speaker sessions, creating opportunities to share experiences and insights. They offer localised connection and support before and after assignments, helping new volunteers tap into a rich network of first-hand knowledge, while actively advancing VSA’s work through advocacy and fundraising.

Alumni Advisory Group
The Alumni Advisory Group (AAG) is made up of Volunteer Service Abroad - Te Tūao Tāwāhi (VSA) alumni who have recently completed volunteer assignments. This group meets online, three to four times a year, to share their insights and provide VSA staff with valuable advice on matters affecting volunteers and the communities they serve.
Drawing on their first-hand experiences, AAG members help us enhance the volunteer journey and strengthen the impact of our work in the Pacific and Timor-Leste. Their feedback plays a crucial role in shaping how we support current and future volunteers.
